Mayor Beebe <br />stated that he had received replies fron 4 - 5 comniunities from <br />his survey made regarding rlo-thing allowance. <br />Miss Trask stateci the clothing all.owance was being discussed by <br />the Saf_ety and Service Comm.ittee and that she has not yet met . <br />with Crief utevens to discuss tris. Srie suggested discussion on <br />the pay ordinance not be made until further information is obtained. <br />Mr. Flgnn asked Council if they w?shed to discLSS the pay ordinance <br />at this time. <br />The majority of Council wished to discuss the pay ordinance now. <br />Mr. Flynn stated the floor was open for discussion. <br />Regarding the vacation schedule, Nr. Amendola stated there were two <br />different ways of interpreting the ordinance. <br />Discussion was held. <br />It was agreed a modest amendment should be made in the ordinance <br />to more cTearly explain tre vacation schedule. <br />Chief Stevens stated the present uniform allowance is $400.00 and <br />he would like Council to be aware of the fact tha.t to provide a <br />new patrolman with an initial uniform costs between $700.00 and <br />$904.00. <br />Discussion was held. . <br />Mro Carmen suggested that Council hold a special worksnop meetina <br />for discussion of these sections of the pay ordinance. <br />Council agreed to hold an executive session following the Regular <br />Council Meeting of Septennber ?l. <br />Mr. Amendola sta.ted he would like to place an order for 300 - 400 <br />tons o-E salt at a cost of approximat2ly $6,300.00. <br />Mrs. Ruggles stated we must advertise for bids. <br />Discussion was held regarding the necessity to advertise for bids, <br />as there are only two competitors. <br />
