Regular Council Meeting <br />3-17-97 <br />Page 8 <br />Mrs. Cinco said they also discussed the road program and asiced to see what kirrd af proposals are <br />out there for the animal warden. They will go out ta bid and see what comes back a.nd will take it <br />from there. <br />Finance Committee - Mr.Marquardt said the committee met this evening. They had 8 items on <br />the agenda: <br />1) Proposal for 3 acres o€the Parkview Galf Course -$750,000 from Grubb & Ellis. 'I hey will <br />see a presentation an that tonight. <br />2} Ord. 97-14 - renewal of dental coverage. Tlvs is a month-by-month extension; they will <br />investigate ather alternatives. <br />3) Ord. 97-15 - The committee recommends approval of the budget ordinance. <br />4) Wage Ordinanee. They are putting together a stummaYy so discussions can 13e Yield on the <br />wage ordinance. <br />5} Rainbow-Cayote - Fireworks. With this $8,500 we will get an additional $1,500 of fireworks- <br />so we wiH have about a$10,000 dispiay this year. The committee recommends approva.l. <br />6) 1997 Road Program -Mr. Metzung incluc3ed this in his repvrt. <br />7) Police Copier - The committee has reviewed the cost of buying a copier versus leasing it. <br />T'hey found that buying the copier is more advantageous and recomxnends approval of the <br />purchase. <br />8) "te Itoad Culverts - NIr. Metzung brought up going out far bids. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - iYfrs. Cinco attended the meeting last Saturday so reported for Dr. <br />Parker: Guest speakers included Cuyahoga Cou.nty Auditor Frank Russfl and Coumty <br />Treasurer/Elect Jim Rokakis. One Qf the matn ideas Nir. Russo has generated is working with Yhe <br />communities and getting out to peaple in the eommwzities with tax questions. They still must stay <br />within the city limits but may bring satellite offices out year round. <br />Historical Sacietv - Dr. Parker said work is progressing in the basement at the historic house on <br />the log cabin and the walls around the meeting room There was an open house on March 16. <br />Eight people went through on tour. <br />M.A.R.C. - At the Iast meeting they approved going ahead with pee weE football. Uetails will be <br />worked out. <br />Ordinance Review Cammittee - Mr. Marquardt said there was no meeting. <br />Planning and Zoniniz -1VIr. Samac said there was no rneeting. <br />Itecreation Board - Mr.Marquardt reported on the February 19 meeting for Mr. Buckholtz: The <br />Recreation Board went over the calendar for the year and focused on the Easter I'arty. They also <br />discussed summer camp and volleyball. They are hoping to get together an open valleyball night. <br />They also talked about street hockey. There is a proposal to construct street hockey at the High <br />School. They are in favor of tha.t and are looking for spansors.
