Idegular Caouncil Mee$ing <br />4-28-97 <br />Page 4 <br />Council President Fixler asked if there was any diseussion. <br />Council President Fixler said this has been something we have been warking on for quite a whiie. <br />Although there is not a crystal ciear direction of what we are going ta end up with -we know a <br />few more things tQday thati we did back when we started--first and foremost we will keep it as a <br />galf course for a vvhite until tllose definitive pians are implemented. We have fiallced with various <br />exgerts related to development of the golf course a€?d Iand adjacent to-it. We all feei that #his <br />would be a uery nice acquisition for Mayfield Village. It certa.inly will be uery benE:ficial for many <br />years to come for all residents. He thinks ati of us are eactremely pleased wrth going aheaii with <br />the gurchase. This is something the Village has been working on for several years. The tegislation <br />has gone through two readings; #liis will be the third reading this evening. Assttnaing the <br />legisIation passes, this will let.the LaConte faxnily know they are going forward with the purchase <br />of the go}f course. Mayor Rinker and Council are very_ proud rnTith going ahead with this. <br />1Vlayor Rinker said it is funny houv it seems some of the more momen#aus decisions we make at <br />the very moment we make them, seem ahnost anti-clinaatic. As CouncU President Fixler said, this <br />is still, in many ways, just one more step. We have a long way to go. gie th;nks iY us #ruly excifiing <br />what prospects the future holds for us with development of the northwest quacirant for a variety <br />of reasons.
