Regular Council Meeting <br />4-28-97 <br />Page 3 <br />Finance: There was no report. <br />Safety & Service Committee - Mr. Marquardt said the committee met Apri17. Discussion <br />included: <br />•Fire Department: The Mayfield Village, Highland Heights and Gates Mills fire departments <br />are interested in raising funds to build a fire safety house. <br />• Firefighting equipment for fires in the Metroparks. The Fire Chief was going to talk to the <br />Metroparks. <br />• Police Department: Traffic signalization to be discussed with the Engineer. <br />• Laser sights for handguns. <br />• Service Depaa-tment: Front end loader bid. <br />• The Worton Park/MHS Retention Basin. <br />• White Road Sewer Replacement. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Dr. Parker said there was no report. <br />Historical Societv - Dr. Parker said work is progressingin the basement of the log cabin. On <br />April 12, Dorothy Buzek donated several pieces of equipment in memory of her husband Harper. <br />The Nickerson family donated, in memory of Edythe, a Victor Victrola. Coming events include a <br />bridal show in June. <br />M.A.R.C. - There was no report. <br />Ordinance Review Committee - There was no report. <br />Planning and Zonin2 - Mr. Ferrante said P&Z met last month. The only item on the agenda was <br />the addition to the front of Austin's Smokin' Steakhouse which was unanimously voted down. <br />Recreation Board - Mr. Buckholtz said the Board met April 18. Camps are filling up nicely. The <br />Junior Camp filled up completely and Drama Camp is going a little siow. Sports Camp is almost <br />filled. Mr. Dasher had an idea to call some of the second graders from the Junior Camp to invite <br />them-into the Sports Camp. <br />Sewer Liaison Committee - There was no report. <br />OLD BiJS17NES7S <br />Third Reading of Ordinance No. 97-09, entitled; "An emergency ordinance authorizing the <br />exercise of an option to purchase the Parkview Golf Course." Introduced by 1Vlayor Rinker and <br />Council as a Whole. (First Reading 2/17/97; Second Reading 3/17/97.) <br />,:,;; Mr. Busa,. secaaded by Mr. Ferrante, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 97-09.
