Regular Council Meeting <br />4-2&97 <br />Page 8 <br />Mr. Brett asked far a mation to authvrize the expenditure of $5,697.30 for ihe pnrcha.se of six (fi) <br />ballistic vests per the contract between Mayfield Villaga and the Fraternal Order of Folice. (That <br />was agreed to in the contract.) <br />NCr. Busa, seconded by Dr. Paricer, made a rnotion to authorize an expendituire of $5,697.30 to <br />Abele lDavis Corporation for the purchase of six (6) ballistic vests. <br />Mr. Busa asked if this issue went to the Safety and Service Committee. <br />Mr_ Brett said no; it was part of the police contract that was negotiated. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: NQne <br />Motian Carried <br />Expenditure Authorized <br />AT&T Equipment Storage Structure (Bldg. Comm.) <br />Celiular T'ower Installed at Service Bidg. (Councii President) <br />Jason Brad.ford of TyrieGraup, representirig AT&T Wireless Services, was present. He shawed <br />plaus of the equipment buiiding they aree buiid'mg #o-match the facade of the fire station buiiding. <br />He asked to address any questions. <br />Nfr. Busa asked how high the tower is and who pays the in.surance. <br />Mr. Bradford said it is 190' long and AT&T pays the insurance. <br />Council President Fixler said when the presentatiQn was made abaut putting towers in, this <br />Council vvas shown certain pkotographs, certain elevation and certain viewpomts of how Yhe <br />landscaping wouid look-and naw that our first tower is ug, he fesls he was mislead. This thing <br />stiEks out like a sore thumb-from many vievupoints. He is very concemed about putting these <br />towers in the way we initially thought. If we have a lease agreement vith you, Council Pr€sident <br />Fixler said he supposes there is nat a lot we ean do about it. But, he thiuks the vantage points <br />Couricil was shown (af where you could see these taw.ers) were -not realistic. He thinics it is an <br />insult to us for anyone to cmme in showing us photographs o€something that is noi the case. He <br />is very disappminted. You Gan't see it from close up, but you can sec it from quite a distance <br />away. He does not Imow tha# anyone envisioned that would be the case. He is concemed wiaat <br />this one will laok 11ce. <br />1Vft. Bradford said AT&T did not provide afny pictures of what the finished outcome woukl look <br />-l'zke. AT&T must use the Village's Iandscaping vendors per the Village's contraet. That as one <br />way they are trying to suit the city's needs. They are also working vvith the ViJlage's vendor to <br />relor,atethe existing sprinkler system. The Village haci an existing strueture of 120' and they are <br />? <br />i <br />? <br /> <br />
