Regular Council Meeting <br />9-18-00 <br />Page 4 <br />Commission on A~ - Mr. Busa read the report from Mrs. Kalina. Mrs. Kalina noted a date <br />change for the flu shots: They will now be administered on November 13. Registration dates <br />remain the same. (A copy of the report is attached to the minutes.) <br />Safety and Service -Mrs. Cinco said they met on September 11. For the Fire Department, they <br />discussed master planning. It was suggested that Chief Mohr do the preliminary planning for <br />personnel and equipment. He has the expertise in dealing with ISO regulations and many years <br />here. He wants to do the planning in 5-year segments working with Mayor Rinker and Finance <br />Director, then it will be submitted to the Safety and Service Committee for discussion and <br />forwarded to Council. Finance Committee discussed Opticom this evening to determine the <br />budget impact. Safety and Service approved the entire package if the financing is available. <br />Otherwise, Chief Mohr recommended not doing the Lander Road intersection this year and <br />waiting until the S.O.M. Center Road traffic signals are done. The total package to the Village <br />including Lander Road would be $42,025 and excluding Lander would be approximately $7,500 <br />less. The first 7 seven intersections (as listed on the sheet attached to the minutes) would be split <br />50-50% with Highland Heights with the last 3 being the Village's sole responsibility. <br />Finance Committee - Dr. Parker said they met this evening. Item #1 was tabled pending a letter <br />of intent from Highland Heights. Items 2-5 were approved. (A copy of the agenda is attached to <br />the minutes.) <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils -Mrs. Cinco said there was no report. <br />Historical Society -Mrs. Mills said work is still being done on the one-room schoolhouse. A <br />new outdoor light fixture has been installed at the entranceway on the south end of the Historic <br />House. The annual Ice Cream Social was held September 13. About 350 people enjoyed it. The <br />bi-annual Quilt Show will be held October 13-15 in the Community Room. Tickets are available <br />for the quilts being raffled. <br />M.A.R.C. -Mrs. Cinco said M.A.R.C. met September 7. The Art Show will be the last weekend <br />in September. Letters were sent for patron requests and asking everyone to participate. A copy <br />of the M.A.R.C. minutes will be included in the Council packets. <br />Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Ilacqua said there was no report. <br />Planning and Zoning -Mrs. Mills said Planning and Zoning will meet this Thursday at 7:30 p.m. <br />Recreation Board - Mr. Buckholtz said Recreation will meet this Wednesday. We will review <br />the summer activities and begin planning the Halloween Party for October 28. We will continue <br />working on the development plan for the Parkview area with softball fields, etc. <br />Sewer Liaison Committee - Mr. Buckholtz said last Tuesday we had a very successful meeting <br />here. Cuyahoga County Sanitary Engineer Ruth Langsner and Rick Novickis from the Cuyahoga <br />County Board of Health attended. We got a lot of good input from residents. We introduced the <br />
