Regular Council Meeting <br />9-18-00 <br />Page 3 <br />Mr. Metzung said he has a meeting scheduled with Ruth Langsner to go over the areas where we <br />had sanitary problems and see what services the County can provide at their cost. We are <br />especially looking at the Oakwood/Kenwood and Wildwood/Timberline areas. <br />Fire <br />Chief Mohr announced that Fire Prevention Week is coming up. We will distribute literature <br />about that to the schools. <br />Parks & Recreation <br />Mr. Thomas said the Fall Parks & Recreation Brochure was mailed to all residents. Adult <br />softball is in full swing. We have 3 leagues. We have a new Men's Softball league with 6 teams, <br />a Coed Softball league with 6 teams & 7 teams in our Men's 35 and Older league. Information <br />packets (150) were sent to the MBA (Mayfield Basketball Association) participants. We are <br />marketing the adult men's and women's basketball leagues. Teen board activities will be starting <br />soon--a Battle of the Bands contest is planned for November 9. <br /> <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Activities Committee -Mrs. Roman said the committee met a couple of weeks ago and recapped <br />the Summer events. We are gearing up for the tree lighting ceremony. <br />Architectural Review Board - Mr. Samac said we met on September 14.~ A sign and dormer. ., <br />addition were approved for a residential dwelling. <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Samac said our last meeting was on August 15: A height variance for a <br />fence in a residential district and a setback for a residential shed were approved. <br />Cemetery -Mrs. Mills said the Mayfield Village Garden.Club reported that Jason Smith has <br />completed his work at the cemetery. The Mayfield Village ~ Gardeif Club and `Mayfield,Townsh}p.. , :. , ' <br />Historical Society shared equally in his salary which was $360 for the summer season. The <br />Garden Club members also worked with him; (a volunteer effort on their part:).~~The:Horticµlture:, , . <br />Students will be assisting the Garden Club at the, Cemetery and the Historical House. This year, <br />the 9~' Grade students have been accepted in the,Horticulture SchoolProgram'and vYll:a~so be, . ~ ... . <br />working there.
