- MINiJTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL
Mayfield Village
October 16, 2000
The Council of Mayfield Village met in regular session on Monday, October 16, 2000 at
8:03 p.m. in the Mayfield Village Senior Center/Community Room. Council President Bill
Marquardt presided.
ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Buckholtz, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ilacqua,
Mr. Marquardt, Mrs. Mills and Dr. Parker
Absent: None
ALso Present: Mr. Brett, Mr. Cappello, Mr. Diemert, Mr. Metzung, Chief Mohr,
Mr. Samac, Chief Stevens, Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Roman
Mrs. Roman said Mayor Rinker could not be here this evening due to a business commitment.
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.
OPEN PORTION
Vince Lombardo, 6466 Chase Drive said he has 3 concerns:
1) The condition of the Pin Oaks on tree lawns. The homeowners have developed the idea that
the responsibility for trimming low-hanging branches is the Village's responsibility--not theirs.
There could be problems with Halloween coming up.
2) The condition of the streets. They were poured in 1969. They are deplorable. They have
gotten worse over the winter. The chuckholes will be even worse if nothing is done before this
winter. They must be patched and we are r~uLn_ing out of time.
3) Is there anything we can do as a Village to reclaim our property from the deer? There are
many dollars lost in plants and landscaping.
Council President Marquardt asked if Mr. Metzung had any comments.
Mr. Metzung said tree trimming has been scheduled and will be completed before Halloween.
Areas have been marked to be patched. We have been unable to get into the Aintree area but
have about a month to go (with good weather) and will be there before the end of the summer.
Mr. Diemert said many communities are experiencing problems with deer. Those with 10 acres
or more have received bow and arrow permits but that would be difficult to do with less than 5
acres.
Mr. Lombardo asked about bb guns.
Mr. Diemert said we have an ordinance that prohibits shooting things like that.
