The $29.00 is if you had to have a piler machine come
in but we don't do that.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Resolution No. 2000-14, entitled, "A Resolution in support of Issue 204, A 1.9 Mill Operating
Levy, placed on the ballot by the Mayfield City School District." Those who wish to speak must first state
their name and address. This open portion is limited to discussion pertaining to the items under
"New Business" only.
Sandy Batcheller, 6784 Wilson Mills Road, said she attended the last S.O.M. Center Road Widening
Committee meeting. Her recollection during the discussion of the widening is that there were state
funds allocated for landscaping. For some reason $400,000 comes to mind. At that meeting, there
was a proposal for an elaborate brick wall covering the back yards of three houses on Aintree North
and Wilson Mills not to exceed $275,000. Her understanding is that was taxpayers' money that
would be doing that landscaping. If that is the case, she does not think they should be getting
taxpayers' dollars for their landscaping. Whatever the total cost of funds designated for landscaping
by the State--that large amount should not be going to a little parcel of property. She knows they
asked them to come back with another recommendation for lower figures. Whatever the figures are,
if it is coming out of taxpayer dollars and the rest of the landscaping isn't, then she does not think it
should be done.
Council President Marquardt said he thinks those items are still under discussion at this point by the
committee.
