It is not only the hot/cold deck dampers
but it also includes the re-control of all of those dampers.
Mr. Diemert said the legislation could be passed as amended.
Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Ilacqua, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2000-43 as amended.
Mr. Brett said he wasn't clear on the amount.
Mr. Samac explained we had done two different things: one was $7,389 for the replacement of the
boiler which was authorized earlier during this meeting. The $7,642 is for the 5 dampers, the re-
controlling of the boiler and the air conditioning of those dampers.
Dr. Parker asked why the price difference from the earlier quote.
Mr. Samac said we decided at the Council Caucus meeting because there was no heat whatsoever to
have the contractor replace that boiler. That price was $7,389. We decided to take up the second
phase of that, the dampers, at this meeting. The $13,000 price didn't include the controls.
Mr. Diemert clarified the first whereas clause will not be $13,061 it will be $7,642. Section One
would be amended to eliminate reference to the boilers and the $7,389 will be taken out. It will be to
provide material and labor to replace 5 hot deck, cold deck dampers and controllers at the outlet of
the air handler including all duct work modification for a price of $7,642.
Council President Marquardt asked if there were any further comments.
There were no comments.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Ordinance Enacted (as amended)
First Reading of Ordinance No. 2000-44, An emergency ordinance authorizing a contract with
Morton Salt.
