Regular Council Meeting <br />12-18-00 <br />Page 2 <br />COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT MARQUARDT <br />Council President Marquardt said this is the last meeting of the year and he wanted to <br />acknowledge the Council people and volunteers who worked on the committees this year, both <br />standing and special--SOM, Cable, Wage and now the Drainage &Infrastructure--for their <br />excellent work. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS <br />Mr. Thomas said the second annual Winter Break Camp for K-5th graders will be held beginning <br />December 21. About 30 campers are signed up. The MBA youth basketball league will begin <br />play on January 6th. Planning has begun for our Spring/Summer programs. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Activities Committee -Mrs. Roman said the Committee met and discussed the caterers for the <br />Appreciation Dinner. They are requesting approval of an amount to Toni Scalabrino ($5,000) for <br />catering of the dinner on February 24. This item should have been on the Finance Agenda. <br />Architectural Review Board - Mr. Samac said they met December 14. One of the agenda items <br />was approval of the sign for the Assisted Living Facility. <br />Board of Appeals- Mr. Samac said there was no meeting. <br />Cemetery -Mrs. Mills said there is no report. <br />Citizen's Advisory Board -Mrs. Cinco said there was no report. <br />Commission on Aging - Mr. Busa read the report from Eunice Kalina, Director of Human <br />Services. <br />Safety and Service -Mrs. Cinco said they met December 4. The minutes will be the same as the <br />Council Caucus minutes. Most items were also on the Finance Committee agenda tonight. <br />Finance Committee - Dr. Parker said the Finance Committee met this evening. They <br />recommended approval of items 1-12. (See agenda attached.) Dr. Parker noted the correct <br />amount of item #8, car for the Fire Department, is $22,500 and the vendor is Planet Ford. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils -Mrs. Cinco said there was no report. <br />LJ <br />r 1 <br />Historical Society -Mrs. Mills said about 50 people attended their Christmas dinner last <br />Wednesday; there was a lot of good food. <br />
