Regular Council Meeting <br />2-18-08 <br />Page 2 <br />COMNiENTS FROM MAYOR RINKER: <br />Mayor Rinker advised that the Appreciation Dinner is scheduled for March 15tn <br />Mayor Rinker also reported that Councilman Marrie had surgery today. From all accounts we <br />hear it was successful, however he is not out of the woods yet. Our prayers go with him. <br />COIVIMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT BUCKHOLTZ: <br />With regard to the request for a liquor license from Pizzazz, Council President Buckholtz stated <br />that if any Council member had an objection to this request, to advise Mrs. Betsa before the end <br />of this week. If there are no problems, Mrs. Betsa will complete the form notifying the State of <br />Ohio that there are no objections. <br />DEPAI2TIVIENT HEAD 1tEPORTS: <br />SERVICE - Douglas Metzung <br />There was nothing to report from the Service Department. Mr. Metzung reported on the <br />successful first venture of a city-sponsored event in Reserve Hall. Special thanks to the Sun <br />PNess for their article following the event and to all who attended. We had over 100 people <br />present. <br />BUILDING - John Marrelli <br />There was nothing to report. <br />ENGINEERING - Tom Caqpello <br />There was nothing to report. <br />LEGAL I)EPARTMENT - Diane Calta <br />There was nothing to report. <br />FIRE - Chief Mohr <br />Chief Mohr reported that the Fire Department received a grant for $50,000.00 from the <br />Department of Homeland Security through Cuyahoga County's Emergency Services and <br />Communications Committee for portable radios. We are getting 10 of them. Also, three of our <br />firefighters received a Cleveland Clinic regional grant for emergency medical service excellence
