Regular Council Meeting <br />3-17-08 <br />Page 8 <br />Mr. Marquardt asked if there is something about sprucing up the fields for special events. Mr. <br />Metzung stated that if someone rents the field, they will expect it to be dragged and lined, if they <br />are renting it for a league or something. There is a material cost and labor cost. Mr. Metzung <br />stated whether or not after 4 hours they expect us to come back and do it again, that cost would <br />need to be incorporated. If not, there may not be a difference between one and four hours and <br />four and eight hours. To Mr. Metzung it would not matter. <br />Mr. Thomas stated that there is a church group that uses it on Sundays. The last time the field <br />was dragged on a typical weekend was Friday night. We do it for the adult co-ed softball league. <br />We line it and drag it once and then the teams play four games. We do not line it after each <br />game. <br />Mayor Rinker suggested that Mr. Thomas and Mr. Metzung get together and prepare what the <br />contract would be so that when people receive it, they have a checklist and understand what is <br />going on, we understand, and then there is no misrepresentation or misunderstanding. In the <br />process, if you find that the two of you now recognize there is a cost that has not been addressed <br />in this, you ought to do it. If we can wait, why don't we pull this all together? We want to make <br />sure that everyone is in sync because typically someone is going to call in and they are going to <br />talk with Mary Beth or Danielle or someone else. If they get different stories or gaps, it is <br />embarrassing and frustrating for people. No one disputes that we ought to be charging a <br />reasonable fee but understand what it is covering. <br />Mr. Thomas said this will be done. <br />Mrs. Mills asked if the motion should be removed from the table. <br />Mr. Saponaro withdrew his motion.
