Regular Council Meeting <br />4-21-08 <br />Page 19 <br />Mrs. Mills reported that a meeting was held with the Health Care Task Force Committee on <br />April 16`h <br />Mr. Brett stated that Ted Kravec from Lance Insurance was there to explain the history of <br />that particular negotiation. It was recommended that in order to be in a better position next <br />year, we either market or go out to bid for the medical care. We would start meeting <br />monthly with representatives of each department and the union to discuss the various <br />options available to us. Mr. Esborn has volunteered to be the point person on that particular <br />project. He will be organizing that and getting in touch with Council members and <br />working with Mary Beth to schedule with the representatives of the employee groups. <br />Mr. Brett thanked Mrs. Mills and Dr. Parker for being present at the meeting. Both of them <br />did a very good job. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Enacted <br />First Reading of Resolution No. 2008-12, entitled "An Emergency Resolution providing for the <br />creation of a"State Mandated Police Training Fund" and authorizing the deposit of funds into <br />such account." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole. <br />Mr. Saponaro, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 2008-12. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion. <br />Mr. Brett reported that we are mandated to do this. The state will reimburse us for a partial <br />cost of the training. Whatever we get as reimbursement will be how much will go into the <br />fund.
