Regular Council Meeting
4-21-08
Page 3
ARCHITECT - Ron DiNardo
There was nothing to report.
HUMAN SERVICES - Eunice Kalina
Mrs. Kalina reported that they have completed an AARP safe driving class. There were 24
participants. It was a two-week series. It was very well received. We will do another one in the
Fall. We have had them before, but this was the biggest group we have had. The Senior Speaker
Series continues. On April 30th, they will have Dr. Alex Hirsh, a dermatologist in the Village,
addressing the seniors and anyone else who would like to attend at 2:00 in the Community
Room. All other regular activities are going well. They are working on their anniversary party
which is May 315t
STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Activities Committee - Mrs. Mills reported that the Committee met on April 2°d. Tomorrow
we are meeting on the final Mother's Day Pancake Breakfast meeting. Everything is in order.
Summer concerts have been finalized. We are working on Cruise Night and Fourth of July
activities. We are also working on a teen event some time in June.
Architectural Review Board - Mr. Marrelli reported that Architectural Review Board met on
April 10` . We had three items - a set of solar panels was approved at Preformed Line Products;
on Eastgate, an addition to the Freer residence; and on Beech Hill an addition to the Levac
residence.
Beautification- Mr. Saponaro reported that the Beautification Committee met last Monday. The
Committee went over projects discussed throughout the last year. We discussed the status and
how we want to move forward. We talked about structure and how we will move forward as a
committee. One of the projects we want to come back to is the placement of benches. We will
bring to Council the committee's suggestions for where they would like to see benches placed.
There will be a schematic with specific areas for placement of the benches. You all received
information on the benches last summer. That is what we are proceeding with. Our next meeting
is May 12th. We will provide a further report on the progress of the trees and the beautification of
the 271 ramps. The trees are being provided free through the ODOT program. We will provide
an update on that. Council President Buckholtz asked if volunteers will be involved with the
planting of the trees. Mr. Saponaro stated that we had a landscape architect, Ivan Valentic,
involved so we knew where the placement of the trees would be. We knew we would receive
approximately 200 trees. We are also working with Highland Heights because they have the one
ramp and we have the other three.
Board of Appeals - There was no meeting.
Cemetery - There was no report.
