Regular Council Meeting
8-18-08
Page 9

Holiday Inn. That is the one being actively drilled now. That is 50 feet north or south of
the flagpole.
ENGINEERING - Tom Cappello
Mr. Cappello provided a quick update on two proj ects.
On the Raleigh project, they are getting ready to pave the west half tomorrow.
On the Seneca project, the water main work has begun. They have about 300 feet in as of
today. They are projecting to be done with the main line hopefully by the end of this
week. They are trying to get done prior to school starting. They are progressing very
well.
I

Mrs. Mills asked about the work which needs to be done at the Kotoch property on Timberline.
Mr. Cappello reported that there is a large elliptical pipe that passes under the road through an
easement between their property and their neighbors and discharges into the creek. The culvert
joint appears to be leaking. There is a large sinkhole on the property. We have a proposal from
United Survey to have multiple joints fixed to prevent the sinkhole from getting larger.
LEGAL DEPARTMENT - Ms. Calta
Adding to comments made about information being compiled on the leases for the oil and gas
wells, Ms. Calta reported that she has been going through the minutes and reviewing all of the
questions that came up not only from this meeting but from the Planning Commission meeting.
We are working to get answers to many of the questions. There is a lot of information to gather.
We are continuing to do that. We will have another report at the Caucus meeting which is
scheduled for Tuesday, September 2°a
FIRE - Chief Mohr
There was nothing to report.
FINANCE - Philip Brett
There was nothing to report.
POLICE - Chief Dearden
Chief Dearden reported that the bid opening for the police station is Thursday afternoon at 2:00
p.m.
