Regular Council Meeting
9-15-08
Page 6
President Buckholtz does not know the name of the secretary, she is from University Heights;
and the new Treasurer is Bill Buckholtz. We will be formulating some activities and setting an
agenda for a new meeting for this fall.
M.A.R.C. - Dr. Parker reported that M.A.R.C. met on September 4th at 7:05. Some of the items
of note include the Punt, Pass and Kick event which will take place at the high school on
Sunday, September 21St at 12:00 p.m. The Art Show posters have been distributed. The judging
will be on Saturday and the reception will be on Sunday, September 215t. The meeting adjourned
at 7:25. The next meeting is October 2na
Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Marquardt reported that there was no meeting. There is no
report.
Planning and Zoning - Mr. Marquardt reported that there was no meeting. There is no report.
Mayor Rinker added that depending on what kind of feedback we get in the next 24 hours on
these meetings on the wells, he suggested and discussed previously with Chairman Farmer about
having Planning and Zoning be the forum and provide the venue for further discussions. One of
the things that we clearly will anticipate convening on at least one occasion will be a Town Hall
meeting where we will send out notification to residents. We are waiting to get some sense of
direction that the State is taking, if any, at least what feedback the elected officials are telling us
so we get a sense of an agenda for that meeting. Apart from the two wells we have, the
overarching policy that the Village needs to adopt is going to be the end game of that discussion.
As we get a better understanding, we will look to Planning and Zoning to schedule times that
would be appropriate for those sessions and then we will get the word out.
Recreation Board - Mr. Marrie reported that they will be meeting this Wednesday to review a
few items, such as the pool and the rentals of the pavilions. For the record, the pool this year had
2,000 more people use it than in 2007. Both Wiley Park and Parkview pavilions were used every
weekend from June through August. They will be discussing the rental fees. They will also be
discussing the upcoming Halloween painting contest.
SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Planning Development Committee - Mr. Marrelli reported that the next meeting is scheduled
for September 23` .
Information & Technologv - Mr. Marrie reported there was no meeting. There is no report.
Council President Buckholtz stated that we do need to schedule something to discuss the
website. Mayor Rinker added that Ted Esborn has been doing a lot of work pulling together a lot.
of information and dealing with a few other department heads along that line on the CIZ so that
we can really get a sense of a game plan going forward. In a short term we are looking to what
we can accomplish over the next 6 months going into 2009. We hope to get that information in
for Information & Technology discussions as well as Council. Mr. Marrie stated that he attended
a meeting earlier this evening and they did a poll on 27 major companies. 24 out of the 27
companies are putting their money into improving their websites to get the information out about
