Regular Council Meeting <br />10-20-08 <br />Page 5 <br />SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />Plannin$! Development Committee - Council President Buckholtz reported that a meeting was <br />scheduled for the end of October. This is going to be rescheduled. We will keep everyone <br />posted. <br />Information & Technology - Council President Buckholtz reported that IT still has not as of <br />yet met. <br />Records Commission - Mrs. Mills reported that Records Commission met and discussed the <br />first Community Shred day which took place on October 4th. There were 127 participants with <br />6,000 pounds being shred. The whole process went very well. The Village shred some of their <br />obsolete documents. We would like to schedule another Community Shred Day on May 16, <br />2009. This is a good program to carry on. Our next meeting is scheduled for November 19, <br />2008 at 12:30. <br />Health Care Task Force - Mrs. Mills reported that the Health Care Task Force met with some <br />of the employees on October 16`h. The Minutes are in the packet. Please read them because they <br />axe very informative. Mr. Kravec will be working with Ted Esborn. Information forms will be <br />sent to each employee which must be completed before another meeting takes place. The <br />Committee will be very firm on this. <br />OLD. BUSINESS , <br />OPEN PORTIOloT - 3 minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must first state <br />their name and address. <br />Gordon Nichols <br />6460 North Aintree Drive <br />Mr. Nichols stated that about a month ago, the Service Director gave him a call. They took a <br />walk around the area, looking at the manholes, sidewalks and some of the catchbasins. He <br />agreed with Mr. Nichols that they needed attention. He did repair the catchbasin which wall was <br />falling down. However, he said he was going to talk to the Mayor and get some paperwork out. <br />Where do we stand on that? <br />Mr. Metzung replied that we have not done the letters to the residents. We have every attention <br />of at the first opportunity to repair the manholes in the sidewalks. The exercise of going out and <br />physically marking sidewalks - Mr. Nichols said to Mr. Metzung that he said they did that and it <br />is all documented. Mr. Metzung replied that they did it years ago. Now it has to be redone. Mr. <br />Nichols asked about continuing the sidewalk program. Mr. Metzung said we would love to, but <br />it is very expensive.
