Regular Council Meeting <br />10-20-08 <br />Page 4 <br />Safety and Service - Mrs. Mills reported that Safety and Service met on October 6t". They <br />discussed EMS billing and road salt. ' <br />Finance Committee - Mrs. Mills reported that the Finance Committee met this evening. They <br />had 11 items on the agenda. Ordinance 2008-36 was deferred for further action tonight by the <br />rest of Council. <br />Historical Society - Mrs. Mills reported that 285 people attended the Quilt Show. It was very <br />successful. People came from all over the area. The winner of the quilt was Barb Smith who <br />lives up on Sandalwood. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - There was nothing to report. <br />M.A.R.C. - Dr. Parker reported that M.A.R.C. met on October 2°d at 7:05 p.m. Items of note are <br />the Punt, Pass and Kick was held on Sunday, September 21S`. There were 29 participants. The <br />31St Annual Art Show was held the weekend of September 19-21St. They had 75 entries. Mayor <br />Rinker judged the Mayor's award. MBA registration has started. <br />Ordinance Review Coinmittee - Mr. Marquardt reported that Ordinance Review met on <br />October 15t . There were four items on the agenda, excavation permit fees, roadway bonding, <br />EMS billing and registration of contractors. Two of those will probably be coming up for vote <br />before the end of the year. The other items will probably be discussed further in Ordinance <br />Review. <br />Planning and Zoning - Mr. Marquardt reported that Planning and Zoning met last Thursday, <br />October 16t with a workshop. They discussed the oil and gas well drilling. It was open to the <br />public. It was a well-attended meeting. We explained all of the ins and outs and answered <br />questions. It was very informative. Mrs. Mills asked when speakers are on the stage, please <br />make sure to talk into the microphone. She could not hear anything. Mayor Rinker explained <br />that was the sound system. Only two of five microphones were up there. Mrs. Mills said some <br />of the questions, you could hardly hear the responses to. <br />Recreation Board - Mr. Marrie reported that Recreation Board met on Wednesda?y the 15th. The <br />Sixth Annual Wildcat Teen Halloween Party at Mayfield High School for the 6t to 8th graders <br />was a great success. 400 students attended. There was a lot of dancing, prizes and games. The <br />Tenth Annual Halloween Painting Contest is in process. Thirty-three merchants have signed up. <br />There are 55 6th to 8th graders doing the painting. Mayor Rinker said that is fantastic. Mr. <br />Marrie additionally reported that the Recreation Board is also working with the Key Club for the <br />Halloween party for the children which is scheduled for Saturday, October 25th between 1:00 and <br />2:30. They could use some volunteers to help. They also discussed Parkview Pool rates which <br />they will discuss further and make recommendations to the Administration. Last but not least, <br />the Third Annual Walk the Miracle Two-Mile for Make a Difference Day through the park is <br />scheduled for Saturday, October 25th starting at 9:00. It is a Kiwanis program. It helps their <br />youth programs. _
