Regular Council Meeting Minutes
12-15-08
Page 6
plus. They all got a present. Patsy made sure they got their picture taken with Santa. Dave does
an excellent job. Mayor Rinker said he got the dust. Mr. Marrie said when he first did it, he was
a bit reluctant. As he got into it, he got starstruck.
SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Planniniz Dewelopment Committee -
Information & Technology -
Council President Buckholtz reported that Planning Development and Information &
Technology had a combined meeting on December 81h. The presentation by Rich Dugger from
OneCommunity about the fiber ring was excellent. Everyone should have received copies of the
powerpoint with an explanation of what is at stake here. Copies are available for anyone who
would like to look it over. We will be discussing putting the fiber ring around Beta Drive tonight.
This has been something we have been discussing and visualizing and hoping for for a long long
time.
Records Commission - Mrs. Mills reported that the Records Commission met in December. We
had another very good meeting. Mrs. Mills complimented the entire staff on their ability to
collect the records and maintain them. Our next meeting will be in January. We will be
discussing holding another Community Shred Day in May.
IIealth Care Task Force - Mrs. Mills reported that that committee has been turned over to the
employees. Mrs. Mills does not know if she should track that or how should she handle it?
Mayor Rinker said we can get them to provide a report. Mrs. Mills said minutes would be a
good thing so that Council knows where they are coming from. Mrs. Mills will be in contact
with them.
OLD BIJSINESS.
OPEN POIZTION - 3 minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must first state
their name and address.
Gordon Nichols
6460 North Aintree Drive
Mr. Nichols said that at the October meeting, we talked about Beecher's Brook Road properties.
Nobody knows who owns that property. The Tax Department said the city owns it and the State
of Ohio. We say the homeowners own it. We went over to the Engineer's office and looked up
some of the stuff and in 1965, a Mrs. Brown tried to get that street dedicated and she brought this
to Council. He does not know what happened to it or where it ended.
