? MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL
Mayfield Village
June 28, 2004
The Council of Mayfield Village met in regular session on Monday, June 28, 2004
At 8:09 p.m. in the Mayfield Village Senior Center/Community Room. Council President Bill
Buckholtz presided.
ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Buckholtz, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Marquardt, Mr. Marrie
Mrs. Mills, Dr. Parker and Mr. Saponaro
Absent: None
Also Present: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Brett, Mr. Cappello, Chief Dearden,
Mr. Diemert, Mr. Marrelli, Mr. Metzung, Chief Mohr, Mr. Thomas
and Mrs. Roman
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.
OPEN PORTION
5-minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must first state their name and address.
Merv Singer, 6533 Highland Road, introduced himself and said before I go into what I wanted to
talk about, I want to applaud the Council and the Mayor for their being instrumental in Mayfield
Village being the Number 1 community in this area. It starts at the top, so if it wouldn't be for the
Mayor and Council, we wouldn't be the Number 1 Community.
Mr. Singer said second, I want to read something. (He distributed copies to Council; a copy is attached
to the minutes.)
Council President Buckholtz thanked Mr. Singer and said I should point out that Mr. Singer was at our
Sewer Liaison Sanitary Sewer Meeting that we had on May 24. For those of you on Council that were
not at that meeting, the $100,000 was set aside several years back for a sanitary sewer fund and it's
been talked about periodically that a lot of people would come forth at those meetings and talk about
flooding, ponding, water, surface water problems and then we would have to explain at that point that
that wasn't sanitary sewers, those were stormwater sewers. I think that is what Mr. Singer is refemng
to here-that $100,000 sort of either be in that fund or a sister fund to include stormwater management
as well as sanitary-that's the context that that came up. (Mr. Singer nodded.) Council President
Buckholtz said I think that clarifies that.
Mr. Brett said we talked at the May 24th meeting of increasing the transfer from the General Fund to
the Sewer Relief Fund to $200,000 a year and the tax budget I presented to Council, which again is not
; in its final form-is only preliminary-does include a$200,000 transfer to the Sewer Relief Fund for
next year in addition to--I thuilc we cut back on Infrastructure and hnprovement only because we have .
a sizeable balance in there now and we can play that by ear if that's drawn down by the end of the year,
