Regular Council Minutes
9-27-04
Page 3
which is buried deep in the heart of the order. If we could take that now, I think it would be an
opportune time for us to do so. So I would make that request.
Council President Buckholtz said absolutely. Do I have a motion to amend the agenda?
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to amend the agenda to consider
Resolution.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Agenda Amended
Resolution No. 2004-26, entitled; "A Resolution in Support of the 5.5 Mill Levy for the
Mayfield City School District." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole.
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to adopt Resolution; append to resolution
itself so people could see details.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion.
Mayor Rinker said I would like to add Dr. Price was kind enough to provide us all with a letter
we had in our packets. Oftentimes as Council and the Administration gets to review this
information, my understanding is this is a letter that will go out to the community and we
thought it would also be useful to append it to the resolution itself as an exhibit so people can
see for themselves the facts and details set forth by the School District.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Resolution Adopted
COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT BUCHI30LTZ
Council President Buckholtz said we have a sizable agenda and we'll have to try to get through it
quickly because I have 2 children that attend Mayfield High School and I have to go home and
make sure they don't lower the stats for the District.
DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS:
Douglas Metzuns (Service)
Mr. Metzung said the road program we are working on with Specialized Construction has
entered the second phase of their work which is the grinding of the joints and replacing that with
asphalt. That will be followed up by cracksealing which they will be doing pretty quickly. That
project should be done by the time we meet next. The Village forces are out doing cracksealing
themselves. We will be working in the Worton Park and Hickory Hill areas-our 2 primary
areas-the newest areas of asphalt placement. You want to protect as best as possible so we will
be concentrating in those areas. Then we will go to Thornapple, Hickory Hill, Eastgate and those
areas.
