Regular Council Minutes <br />10-18-04 <br />Page 10 <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Authorized <br />• A motion to authorize an expenditure in the amount of $5,250 to Squires, Sanders & <br />Dempsey for note underwriting <br />Mrs. Mills said this was also approved in Finance and asked Mr. Brett to explain this and the <br />next item. <br />Mr. Brett said when we go out for notes, Squires and Sanders renders the legal opinion that <br />enables us to sell those notes tax free; the interest would be tax free for anyone who purchases <br />them. Without that legal opinion we would not be very successful in marketing them. This <br />generally runs between anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000 each time we issue notes. So this is <br />actually, I think, even lower than last year but it's right around what we've paid normally. <br />Mr. Marrie, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to authorize an expenditure in the amount <br />of $5,250 to Squires, Sanders & Dempsey for note underwriting. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Authorized <br />• A motion to authorize URS Corporation Revision of Work Order No. 7 -Construction <br />Observation not to exceed $260,000 for Modification No. 11 Revision Request for <br />Overtime for additional services for S.O.M. Widening <br />Mr. Brett said the Work Order #7 is an increase in the URS contract due to the extended length of <br />the construction project is going to go forward. We had anticipated that would be wrapping up this <br />year. It seems pretty clear that it is going to go well into next year. <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to authorize URS Corporation Revision of Work <br />Order No. 7 -Construction Observation not to exceed $260,000 for Modification No. 11 Revision <br />Request for Overtime for additional services for S.O.M. Widening. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked if there were any further comments. <br />Mr. Marne and Mrs. Cinco said this was discussed extensively at Finance and Caucus. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Authorized <br />• Discussion of Withdrawal of Corned Beef Shop Appeal <br />Mr. Marrelli said I tried to solicit a letter from The Corned Beef Shop to get an official <br />withdrawal document to find out that the phone was answered Pizza Pan so there is no longer a <br />
