Regular Council Meeting Minutes 2-16-09 Page 28 Council President Buckholtz said his first question was, if someone gives you all of the information, can we do this ourselves? Then he thought, well if you have a lot of time and wanted to dive into it, maybe. That was before he really read this line by line. The concept of bringing two different Congressional districts together and doing this cooperatively, it is like the Issue 2 money but the first one involved more than the trunk money. It triples your chances. Council President does not want to divulge running this like he runs his personal finances, but he heard that we may save $25,000.00 by closing the pool a few days earlier, this sounds lilce a gamble. Mayor Rinker said, think of this as pooling your resources. Dr. Parker asked if that is our share. Council President Buckholtz said it is. Having said that, Council President Buckholtz asked if there were more questions. Obviously there are tons more information on this that will come out, but this is what we need to do. If we want to participate, this is what we need to do and this is what we need to do tonight. There were no further comments. Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole. Mr. Marrie, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council requiring an Ordinance to be read on three separate occasions. ROLL CALL: AYES: All NAYS: None Motion Carried Rules Suspended Mr. Marrie, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2009-09.
