Regular Council Meeting Minutes
4-20-09
Page 14
Bill Ward
Mr. Ward was involved about 30 years ago in nunning a 4,000 foot line. The gas was already
capped. The well was already drilled. It was in Windsor which had hundreds of acres. His point is
is that if had been in a residential district like we live, he would never have even considered gotten
his hands involved in it. His ethics are above that in business. But when you are looking at just open
country for an acreage, hundreds of acreage, he does not know how many acres, that's a different
story and it was already capped up. But this here, this is a residential district. It's completely
different. He would not even, if he was the contractor, he would not even consider taking a job like
this.
Mr. Ward owned Reliable Furnace Company. He retired. Council President Buckholtz said, good
company. Mr. Ward thanked Council President Buckholtz. Council President Buckholtz thanked
Mr. Ward for his comments.
With that, Council President Buckholtz stated we can move on. Everyone is welcome to stay.
CONSIDERATION OF MI1vUTES :
Regular Council Meeting - March 16, 2009
Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to approve the minutes as written.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All Motion Carried
NAYS: None Minutes Approved
Special Council Meeting - March 16, 2009
Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to approve the minutes as written.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Minutes Approved
Mr. Marquardt asked Council President Buckholtz to announce that there is no vote.
Council President Buckholtz stated that in case there's anyone in the audience that is not aware
of this by now, we are not voting tonight on anything to do with gas wells. There will be our
Caucus meeting in two weeks. Council President Buckholtz has a memo here and he thinks it's
very reasonable we will be talking about these points and providing answers as we can. Council
President Buckholtz will discuss that with the Mayor when he returns to town. In four weeks
from tonight, there will be another meeting. He can't say at this time whether we will be voting
on this or not. We will just have to stay tuned. Your arguments are very compelling. Once
again, Council President Buckholtz thanks everyone for getting involved.
