Special Council Meeting Minutes <br />8-3-09 <br />Page 7 <br />• First Reading of Ordinance No. 2009-42, entitled, "An emergency ordinance authorizing <br />an agreement with Guardian as and for an employee AD&D life and dental program." <br />Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole. <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council <br />requiring an Ordinance to be read on three separate occasions. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2009-42. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion. <br />Mrs. Mills stated that Mr. Wynne will be notifying the employees of this coritract renewal. <br />Mr. Wynne added that in early July, we got a quote from our insurance broker for a 6% increase <br />in our coverage. Ted Esborn, who has a good working relationship with the broker, went back to <br />him and said we were not going to shop the coverage, but we were going to get a little more <br />aggressive. He came back with no increase on life, death and AD&D and a 3% increase on <br />dentaL <br />Council President Buckholtz asked if there were any questions. There were none. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All Motion Carried <br />NAYS: None Ordinance Enacted <br />ANY OTHER MATTER BEFORE COUNCIL <br />Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any further discussion or questions. There were <br />none. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to adjourn. <br />The meeting adjourned at approximately 8:35 p.m. Caucus immediately followed.
