Regular Council Meeting Minutes <br />9-21-09 <br />Page 8 <br />SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />Plannin%! Development Committee - Council President Buckholtz reported that Planning <br />Development will be meeting tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. <br />Information & Technologv - Council President Buckholtz reported that there was no meeting. <br />There is no report. <br />Records Commission - Mrs. Mills reported that the Commission will be meeting this <br />Wednesday. Mrs. Mills wants to remind everyone that Shred Day will be on the lOth of October <br />from 9:00-12:00 here in the parking lot. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />OPEN PORTION - 3 minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must first state <br />their name and address. <br />Gordon Nichols <br />6460 North Aintree Drive <br />Mr. Nichols asked Doug, in June you mentioned that you appropriated some money for concrete <br />for the manholes and you said you started on the sidewalks. Give me an update. <br />Mr. Metzung replied, we completed it. <br />Mr. Nichols asked, what about the sidewalks. Mr. Metzung replied, that's what we did, we <br />repaired the sidewalks where the manholes were. That's all we have ever committed to. <br />Mr. Nichols said we thought we were going to do a program for repairing the sidewalks. Mr. <br />Metzung asked, as in? Mr. Nichols replied, as in the sidewalks that are up four inches. Mr. <br />Metzung said, as in the city goes around and assesses and tells residents to repair their <br />sidewalks? <br />Council President Buckholtz asked to interject, no-ill intent here, but point of order. When we <br />ask people to make comments, you should make it to Council and then we can defer to the <br />Department Head to avoid a confrontation. Council President said he can speak to what you are <br />asking. This is an ongoing program. We can't do everything all at once. We budget a certain <br />amount of money and do a certain amount. So if you are questioning what was done and when <br />we are going to get back to more, then we can address that. But, really you should try not to get <br />into a- <br />Mr. Nichols stated he submitted a letter to Council.
