Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
February 27, 2006
Page 13

A motion to authorize expenditure to Home Depot in an amount not to exceed
$5,000.00 for building materials for continuing renovations at the Civic Center.
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to authorize expenditure to Home Depot in
an amount not to exceed $5,000.00 for building materials for continuing renovations at the Civic
Center.
Mr. Buckholtz asked if this was for the ceiling tiles, among other things. Mr. Saponaro indicated
it was for the ceiling tiles in Civic Hall and Administrative offices. Mr. Metzung added that the
ceiling tiles were one of the biggest ticket items.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Expenditure Authorized
A motion to authorize acceptance of the proposal of Albert Herman Draperies, Inc.
in the amount of $5,474.48 for window treatments (stationary side panels with
valances) for Civic Hall.
?

This motion will be stricken as the motion below was for the same item. The proposal of Globe
Drapery was accepted at finance.
A motion to authorize acceptance of the proposal of Globe Drapery, Inc. in the
amount of $5,398.50 for window treatments (stationary side panels with
corneceboard) for Civic Hall.
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to authorize acceptance of the proposal of
Globe Drapery, Inc. in the amount of $5,398.50 for window treatments (stationary side panels
with corneceboard) for Civic Hall.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Expenditure Authorized
Mayor Rinker thanked everyone for passing the expenditures for improvements at Civic Hall.
Residents have been providing wonderful feedback each time someone comes in and sees a little
bit more touches being added to the building. We are getting consistently rave reviews. If we
time this well, we think that by the appreciation dinner, this place is really going to look good.
The goal is to make the cosmetic changes which axe really cost-effective. The big ticket issue we
will be looking at over the months ahead will involve a more ambitious project with the Civic
Center Auditorium. That will take us several months just to arrive at plan. It will probably not be
until next year that we will look at anything serious there. This is nice in the interim before we
really see what direction we take this building. The improvements we are making now are
making this a wonderful place to work and visit.
