Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
June 12, 2006
Page 5
DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS:
SERVICE - Douglas Metzung
There was no report.
BUILDING - John Marrelli
There was no report.
ENGINEERING - Tom Capnello
Mr. Cappello reported that Wilson Mills will be open Friday afternoon.
PROPERTY MANAGER - Llovd Chanman
There was no report.
LEGAL DEPARTMENT - Mr. Diemert
Mr. Diemert reported that the ODOT has communicated to us that they are going to
approve the hike and bike. They have given us the verbal okay. They told us to go ahead and do
what we have to do on our end. We will get the Joint Use Agreement together for their approval.
We should have that ready by the July meeting. It is going along smoothly.
Mr. Diemert fizrther reported that there is an addition to the agenda of Ordinance 2006-23
relative to S.O.M. Court. It was added on due to a quirk in the Ordinance that seems to indicate
that the approval of the name needs to be in a separate action of Council than the actual
dedication of the road. That is why we have two Ordinances on the agenda which appear to be
somewhat redundant but just in case someone wants to challenge this in the future, there are two
Ordinances, one concentrating on the acceptance of the name of S.O.M. Court if Council so
chooses and the other is dedicating public use. All of the engineering requirements and
inspections have taken place. All of the bonds and improvements are all in place. If Council has
no objection, it is suggested that maybe we can move that up as a routine matter in case there are
any questions for Judge Krenzler who is here this evening.
Council President Buckholtz suggested that we vote on them now. Is there a need to
amend the agenda? Mr. Diemert indicated that there was not. Council President Buckholtz
asked if anyone had any questions on the items.
First Reading of Ordinance No. 2006-21,"An emergency ordinance accepting the dedication
plat for S.O.M. Court in the Village of Mayfield for recording purposes only pursuant to
Codified Ordinance 1115.07(a)." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole.
Mr. Diemert indicated that this will be the final dedication.
