Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
August 28, 2006
Page 12
OneMayfield signal was turned on. The OneCleveland signal is turned on. We are completely
on the OneMayfield signal. We have increased our speed from 54 mps to 100. We have doubled
the speed. That went seamlessly Saturday morning. The bottom line is that all of the projects are
completed as of Saturday and we will be able to eliminate some things and some costs. We will
be able to get rid of the Adelphia/Time Warner Cable modems now and use the T-1 which is the
telephone system as the back up to the OneMayfield signal.
Wage Review Committee -Mrs. Mills reported that there is an Executive Session scheduled
this evening about this.
OLD BUSINESS :;
OPEN PORTION - 3 minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must first state
their name and address. This open portion is limited to discussion pertaining to the items under
"Old Business" only.
There were no comments.
NEW BUSINESS, ,;
Rubbish Contract
Mr. Metzung reported that this is just to bring to Council's attention that the rubbish
contract will end next June. We have done this in cooperation with Highland Heights. It has not
been official, but it has come to his attention that Highland Heights has no intention of renewing
the final two years of that contract. He is working with the Service Director there who has set up
a timeline for his Council. Mr. Metzung will share that with everyone as soon as he gets it. If
the recommendation of Council is to go to bid, we need to coordinate this.
Mr. Buckholtz indicated that we have learned some things from this company and we
better not take it for granted so that it is a walk in for someone else. Mr. Metzung indicated that
we will have issues with all the contractors. Sometimes it is not about the money. We may want
to consider that when going out to bid.
Motion to authorize expenditure in the amount of $5,545.46 to URS for Invoice No.
2450795 for services rendered for period ending 8/11/06.
Mr. Saponaro, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to authorize expenditure in the amount
of $5,545.46 to URS for Invoice No. 2450795 for services rendered for period ending 8/11/06.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion. There were no comments.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Expenditure Authorized

1
