Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
September 25, 2006
Page 11
Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Marquardt reported that Ordinance Review met on
September 12t . Discussed was consideration of changes to the fencing code. There will be no
changes to the fencing code. It will remain as it stands.
Planning and Zoning - Mr. Marquardt reported that there was no meeting, so there is no report.
Recreation Board - Mr. Marrie reported. that the Board met on the 20th. A few items discussed
were the introduction of Stivo DiFranco and David Blood, new members which everyone met
when they were sworn in recently. The Board went over the spring/summer programs. An
update on the fall programs: Smart Soccer and Football are maxed out in enrollment. The men's
18+ softball has 16 teams and the co-ed 18+ has 5 teams. We have another league called
Wooden Bat League, mostly males in their 40's and 50's. We have a dog training session that
has already sold out. We also have Mayfield Village volleyball. Participating in that are 25
year olds. With regard to the pool, it will be painted and will be done approximately October
15th. Dave Perout reported that the staff was excellent this year. We received only positive
comments about them, most especially the swim lessons. There were no major problems at all at
the pool this year. We are looking at the cost of raising passes this year. Nothing is finalized, it
is just being discussed. The Halloween party for the children is October 28th from 1:00-2:30. As
always, we could use volunteers for that. Marketing is being done for the window painting
contest.
SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS:
2020 Vision Committee - There was no report.
Information & Technology - Mr. Marrie reported that there was no meeting, so there is no
report. Mr. Buckholtz added that he talked to the Chief. We are getting ready to upgrade the
server with a service pack.
Wage Review Committee -Mrs. Mills reported that we are waiting for the fire department to
ratify the contract. If they do, could we have a special meeting on Caucus night in October. The
Committee will get back to Mrs. Betsa.
OLD BTSINESS~_
OPEN PORTION - 3 minute limit imposed by Chair.
