Regular Council Minutes
10/23/06
Page 11
again. From what Mayor Rinker understands, they should not have an objection because you will
not be able to see it except from a distance. It will have some aesthetic appeal.
Mr. Diemert added that they will be preparing another letter to the BZA as they are still
applying the hardship standard.
Mr. Marrelli indicated also that if you read Mr. DiNardo's letter he is requesting that we
look at this at Ordinance Review on the sight issue, the 15 foot height. Maybe in light of any of
these oversized buildings that happen to be proposed because there is a disconnect between
Architectural Board and the Zoning Board when you get in to some of these larger garages that
get a little bid wider and they need to be a little higher, we run into that ceiling with the height.
Mayor Rinker suggested that since we now have engaged an architect, Mr. DiNardo, to
be an advisor, a consulting architect, it would make sense that when an application is made either
for a variance or for any construction that he be able to review that with that thought in mind
because if that is going to be his position then he can attach that to the application and that's
something that Ordinance Review can look at and then quiz him about it. At least get a sense of
where this is supposed to go from an architectural standpoint so that Ordinance Review can be
informed. You can do that right up front. That might be a way.
Mayor Rinker asked how often this is going to come up. Mr. Marrelli indicated that we
have had two in the last five years. Mayor Rinker said that maybe you don't have to change the
Ordinance, you just have to address on a variance basis. It's a procedural thing.
Motion to authorize expenditure to Zambelli Fireworks Manufacturing Corporation
for the years 2007, 2008 and 2009 in the amount of $12,750.00 per year for Mayfield
Village Fireworks Display.
Mr. Saponaro, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to authorize expenditure to
Zambelli Fireworks Manufacturing Corporation for the years 2007, 2008 and 2009 in the amount
of $12,750.00 per year for Mayfield Village Fireworks Display.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion. There were no comments.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Expenditure authorized
Motion to authorize expenditure in an amount not to exceed $3,250.00 to Heights
Offset Printing for V6Tinter 2006 issue of the Voice of the Village.
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to authorize expenditure in an
amount not to exceed $3,250.00 to Heights Offset Printing for Winter 2006 issue of the Voice
of the Village.
