Regular Council Minutes
10/23/06
Page 2
COMMENTS FROM MAYOR RINKER
Mayor Rinker announced that tomorrow night we will have a presentation from City
Architecture. We have invited Planning and Zoning and 2020 members to this. It should be the
first of a number of presentations dealing with Town Center. We engaged City Architecture
over a year and a half ago. They will be giving a good presentation about their total work
product. We hope this will spur a lot of good dialogue and some real action, especially in the
center of the Village. This is the first of a number of meetings. Ultimately we will have a
Town Hall meeting, but given the involvement of P&Z and 2020, it made sense to introduce this
and do a test run with this group. It starts at 7:00 tomorrow night. It should last anywhere
between 1 % -2 hours. The presentation itself should be somewhere around a half hour to 45
minutes and then the floor will be opened up for questions and answers. This presentation is
open to the public. The focus is on these two groups that have had a lot to do with the planning
aspects that this is touching.
COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT BILL BUCKHOLTZ
Mr. Buckholtz had no comments.
DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS:
SERVICE -Douglas Metzun~
There was no report.
BUILDING -John Marrelli
Mr. Marrelli reported that Council should have received a copy of the letter from the part-
time building inspector, Bob Drobnik, who had to resign on Friday due to health issues. Keep
him in your prayers.
ENGINEERING -Tom Cappello
Updating on the Metro Park sanitary sewer project, Mr. Cappello reported that he
received a tentative schedule from the contractor. It is planned that the sanitary sewer should be
completed by November 30th. They will need to test the sewer and install some pipes and
regrade ditches. That should be completed by the end of December. The south side storm sewer
is tentatively scheduled for completion in February or March of next year. This is just for the
Metro Park and Zorn area. We still need to do Highland Road and that will not be until next
Spring.
