Regular Council Minutes
11 /20/06
Page 9
project is going on now and that is the entryways to different neighborhoods. He has written
about it. They have demonstrated on at least two locations how that can be effective for each
neighborhood. A resident the other day just asked a question about Hickory Hill and Mayor
Rinker indicated we are all in favor of it. We know that the neighborhood association in
Hanover Woods is working on it. Part of this is interfacing with the homeowner's groups. Mr.
Marne understood, stating he would like to see one over in Sandalwood. He encouraged that
they be given that project. Ask them to think about it. Let them talk to their people. Mayor
Rinker suggested that he will write them a letter. Mr. Marne said that would be a good idea.
They are the eyes and ears for us and they do represent every area of the Village. It would be a
good group. There will be no meeting in December and they will wait until Council makes
appointments for January. Mr. Metzung covered the new salt they will be using for the roads.
Commission on A~in~ -Mrs. Kalina indicated that everything has been covered.
Drainage ~ Infrastructure/Stormwater Mgt. -Mrs. Cinco reported that there has not been a
meeting. As of this date, there are five projects that will be evaluated for this year.
Safety and Service -Mrs. Cinco reported that Safety and Service met on Monday, November
6t .They discussed the sewer update, trees on S.O.M. Center Road, the Parkview Playground
project and painting of the pool.
Finance Committee -Mrs. Mills reported that we had 12 issues on the agenda tonight. A copy of the report is attached hereto.
Hillcrest Council of Councils -Mrs. Cinco reported that there was no meeting, so there is no
report.
M.A.R.C. - Dr. Parker reported that M.A.R.C. held its meeting on November 2°d. Highlighted
was the generous contribution of $5,000.00 to M.A.R.C. from Bowden Manufacturing. The floor
hockey season has started. The punt pass and kick local winner was Alexa Pasquale who also
won the regional competition and will be going to competition at Brown's stadium. The MBA is
gearing up. The girls probably started up by now. The sign-up will continue for the boys in
grades 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8. The next meeting is Thursday, December 7, 2006.
Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Marrelli reported that there was no meeting, so there is
no report.
Planning and Zoning - Mr. Marrelli reported that there was no meeting, so there is no report.
Recreation Board - Mr. Marne reported that a meeting was held on November 15th. They
reviewed the Halloween party which was a success. Attendance was low this year, but it was felt
that the day was cold and wet. That probably kept it down.
