Regular Council Meeting
12/18/06
Page 14
Council President Buckholtz advised everyone that this is where we adjourn for Executive
Session.
Ms. Calta clarified that although she just explained that everything is a public meeting, as you
know, every rule has an exception. This is one of the exceptions which the Village is allowed to
convene into Executive Session for specific purposes such as real estate or personnel matters,
things that would not be discussed openly. If that was done publicly then everyone would know
that information and it would be of a disadvantage to the Village to be able to go out and buy real
estate and enter into real estate agreements that need to have some confidentiality to them. They
become ultimately public which once this Executive Session is concluded, we will come back
out and finish the public portion of the meeting.
Ms. Calta added that the third reason for Executive Session is to discuss pending or threatened
litigation.
Council President Buckholtz advised that all are welcome to stay or leave. We do have two more
items on the agenda, but feel free to do as you wish.
Council adjourned for Executive Session at approximately 8:45 p.m.
Council readjourned at approximately 8:55 p.m.
First Reading of Ordinance No. 2006-52, entitled, "An Emergency Ordinance authorizing
the Mayor to enter into a Purchase Agreement for the acquisition of 6484 Wilson Mills Road,
Mayfield Village, Ohio." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole.
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council
requiring an Ordinance to be read on three separate occasions.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2006-52.
Motion Carried
Rules Suspended

Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion.
