Regular Council Meeting <br />12/ 18/06 <br />Page 2 <br />COMMENTS FROM MAYOR RINKER <br />Mayor Rinker stated that again he has an opportunity to do a little celebration, however <br />bittersweet. We have so many people clamoring to cover our meetings, between government <br />students and all of the media coverage that we typically get, this is timely. We understand that <br />Allison Halco, our Sun Newspaper reporter is going to be leaving us. We could not let Allison <br />leave without a few parting shots of our own. Mayor Rinker read off a Proclamation, a copy of. <br />which is attached to these Minutes. Mayor Rinker then presented the Proclamation and a small <br />token of Mayfield Village mementos to Allison Halco. <br />COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT BUCKHOLTZ <br />Mr. Buckholtz commented on how pretty the building looks and thanked Patsy Mills for her hard <br />work on the holiday displays in the Village. Mrs. Mills indicated that the Service Department assisted <br />her. Mr. Buckholtz relayed his thanks to them as well. The Village looks great outdoors and at the <br />Civic Center as well. Many people have called him and have passed along compliments. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS: <br />SERVICE -Douglas Metzung <br />Mr. Metzung reported that with the lack of winter, things are fairly quiet in the Service <br />Department He has to believe that every raked leave in the Village has now been picked up. <br />While we do have the machine available, we are not looking to go out. <br />Rubbish bids will be opened on Thursday of this week for discussion in January. <br />BUILDING -John Marrelli <br />Mr. Marrelli reported that Salon Blue over at the Carney Building is now open and operating. <br />The Rapid Refill Ink store which is next to the Building Department in the Jadd Mall is open <br />now as well. <br />ENGINEERING -Tom Can~ello <br />Updating on the sewer project, Mr. Cappello reported that the contractor is installing the storm <br />sewer on the north side of Metro Park. It is about halfway done. He will be taking the week of <br />Christmas off. <br />LEGAL DEPARTMENT -Diane Calta <br />There was nothing to report. <br />
