Regular Council Meeting <br />1-29-07 <br />Page 13 <br />FINANCE - Phillin Brett <br />There was nothing to report. <br />POLICE - Chief Dearden <br />Triere was nothing to report. <br />PARKS & RECREATION - Bill Thomas <br />Mr. Thomas reported that on Friday of this past week, we had the Sun Messenger come with a <br />reporter and a photographer to take pictures of our Adaptive Friday Nights. There will be an <br />ariticle in the paper in the next couple weeks. We are excited about that. <br />In the first week of March, we will have our Spring/Summer brochure being mailed to all our <br />residents. <br />Mr. Thomas reminded everyone that tickets are still available for the Groundhog Day Forecast <br />Breakfast. The Business Alliance which is made up of schools, communities and businesses axe <br />having a Crroundhog Day. It will be like a State of the Union address from all of our Mayors. <br />We have Sam Rutigliano, a former Cleveland Brown's coach who will be giving the Keynote <br />Speech. That will occur this Friday. If anyone is interested, we can get a ticket to you, just let <br />me know. It is taking place at Landerhaven. It starts at 6:00 in the morning. Everyone will be <br />out of there before 8:00 a.m. <br />ARCHITECT - Ron DiNardo <br />Updating on the Wiley Paxk Pavilion Project, Mr. DiNardo reported that the bid opening is <br />February 1 St. Construction should start when the weather breaks. <br />With regard to the Police Station Project, Mr. DiNardo reported that it is in the schematic design <br />phase at this time. <br />HUMAN SERVICES - Eunice Kalina <br />Nlrs. Kalina reported that we will be hosting a couple of luncheons in February, one is the <br />Annual Thank You Employees luncheon. All Council and other people should have received an <br />invitation. We need RSVP's sent back. It is going to be Friday, February 16th. A Valentine <br />luncheon is scheduled with the Card Group on February 13th. Marie Urbancic, the new member <br />of the Commission on Aging is going to lead a walking group three mornings a week starting <br />April 16`h. There will be information in the Recreation bulletin and the Voice of the Village. On <br />Nlay 19th, we will be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Commission on Aging. We already <br />have plans in the works on that as well as a number of trips and other new classes. We are <br />keeping busy.
