Regular Council Meeting
1-29-07
Page 12
Mayor Rinker stated that he was remiss in omitting from the list of our many projects. In front
of him is a cohort of our fine residents of Seneca. Marge Eisenberg, over the months, has been an
ardent advocate and spokesperson for this neighborhood to the extent that Council and the
adininistration agree, we are going to redo the road on Seneca. He is hearing a little bit more tonight
on some storm issues. We will look at the full board of what the issues are. Rest assured, we are
coming to a street near you. Exactly when, he does not know. Mr. Buckholtz added on Marge
Eisenberg's behalf, we keep moving the location of Council meetings and she still shows up.
DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS:
SERVICE - Douglas Metzung
Mr. Metzung reported he has one item regarding the J&J Refuse that is on tonight's agenda. He
asked that that be amended to $0.39 as opposed to the $0.50. This will cover the $0.06 for a
tipping fee and the other $0.33 for a gasoline/fuel increase for J&J. We are rejecting their tipping
fee increase at their dumpsite in that it is their own parent company that owns the dumpsite.
One other item. As many of you know, we attempted the liquid de-icer on S.O.M. Center Road.
It did not work. The company that sold it came out to check it right away. We suspect that while
the material was supposed to be a beet juice salt grind mixture that there was no salt in the
mixture. We must have gotten the wrong product. They sent it back to the lab to see what we
got. We are going to try again.
BUILDING = John Marrelli
There was nothing to report.
ENGINEERING - Tom Cappello
Updating on the Metro Park/Zorn/Highland Road sewer project, Mr. Cappello reported that the
contractor will finish the Zorn Road sanitary sewer this week and will be moving to Highland
Road in February.
LEGAL DEPARTMENT - Joe Diemert
There was nothing to report.
FIRE - Chief Mohr
Chief Mohr reported that the community and emergency radio station is on line. It is
broadcasting at 1640 on the AM dial. There are four messages. On the way home, tune it in.
