Regular Council Meeting <br />2-26-07 <br />Page 7 <br />COMMENTS FROM GOUNCIL PRESIDENT BUCKHOLTZ <br />Mr. Buckholtz welcomed two students from NDCL's govemment class. This is their second <br />visit here. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS: <br />SERVICE - Douglas Metzung <br />Mir. Metzung reported that on Wednesday, January 31St, he attended a Solid Waste consortium <br />meeting concerning trash. While they will not be prepared to do anything this year, he did meet <br />up with individuals with Bedford and Bedford Heights. They already have a consortium. They <br />are up this year. We are going to see if Mayfield Village can fit in to their plans at all in the <br />future. <br />BUILDING - John Marrelli <br />Mr. Marrelli reported that the Progressive Campus II guardhouse lighting project was complete <br />last week. The Employee Resource Council on Beta at the 6700 building has doubled in size. <br />That project is now complete. C.W. Courtney is moving from 701 Beta, which is the east side of <br />Beta to 700 Beta which is the old Stanley Building up into the southeast corner. That work is <br />ha.lf completed. The Holcomb's Knowville project is probably a little over 1/2 complete. They <br />expect to get that up and running probably within 30-60 days. Mr. Marrelli had a conversation <br />with someone from Collier's today relative to the Euclid Industries Building. They think they <br />may have a buyer within a month. <br />ElVGINEERING - Tom Cappello <br />Updating on the sewer project, Mr. Cappello advised that the contractor is working on Highland <br />Road. He is presently installing the connections. He will be doing that for the next two weeks or <br />sa as long as ground conditions permit: He will then be working on the main line installation of <br />the sewer starting at S.O.M. and heading to the west. <br />Mr. Saponaro asked about the status of the project to be started over the bridge in Gates Mills. <br />Last year it was slated for this suminer. Mayfield Heights is talking about expanding Mayfield <br />Road. Will both projects be done at the same time? Mr. Cappello is unsure if the bridge work <br />has been bid yet. They had to bid it again. He will find out from the state and advise. Mr. <br />Saponaro asked if they will be closing part of the road down. Mr. Cappello stated when the <br />project commences they will. The bridge would be closed for six to eight weeks in the summer <br />once school is out. Mr. Saponaro advised Mr. Cappello that whatever he can find out would be <br />great.
