Regular Council Meeting
3-26-07
Page 15

Mr. Brett stated that in Finance we looked at a number of $7,000.00 for this. The Historical
Society is having trouble making ends meet. They are actually falling behind in doing the
maintenance that they should be doing. As Patsy said, they do it piecemeal. In the long run, it
probably costs more to do it that way. We were looking at $7,000.00. That is based on roughly
double what the volunteer hours were. We are basically looking at $2.00 an hour for volunteer
time that goes into the place. We will review it after a year and see how that is working. The
other thing that we have done in conjunction with the Historical Society is we have incorporated
their insurance policy. They have been buying insurance on their own. We own the house, so we
brought that in. They will have to get insurance for the contents, but by taking that in, we saved
them about $1,500.00 a year. That can be used for other things. They will have an appraisal
done on the contents. Mr. Buckholtz suggested that this frees up a lot of money for promotion.
Orice the ball starts rolling which it has, the word will get out. Mrs. Mills stated that that is what
we are trying to do.
Cc?uncil President Buckholtz asked if there was any other discussion. There were no comments.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Expenditure Authorized
First Reading of Ordinance No. 2007-08, entitled, "An Emergency Ordinance authorizing and
dii•ecting the Mayor to enter into a Lease Agreement with Wes and Jennifer Shofner for the
purpose of leasing the real estate located at 6434 Highland Road, Mayfield Village, Ohio
44143." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole.
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council
requiring an Ordinance to be read on three separate occasions.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Rules Suspended
Mrs. Mills, seconcled by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2007-08.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Ordinance Enacted
