It is just good for us to remember as we find that there are more organizations, for <br />example, Beautification, that are going in a good direction where the efforts of volunteers makes <br />all of the difference in the world. If it were not for the attitude and spirit that these people bring, <br />we would not be talking about programs that people benefit from. The Historical Society should <br />be commended. It has been truly a model. <br />Mrs. Mills indicated that she is very proud to be a member of this society. She is trying <br />to work very hard to help them as much as she possibly can. Mayor Rinker advised it is very <br />visible. <br />Mrs. Mills stated that we have so many artifacts. Even in our genealogical libraxy, we <br />have a document that a resident in Highland applied for a patent. Quincy Adams signed and <br />sealed it. It is encased in plastic. The little kids touch that. We tell the children to go home and <br />tell their parents they touched the signature of a President and his seal. They all get excited about <br />it. Where do you go for hands-on the way we do things? <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - There was no report. <br />M.A.R.C. - Dr. Parker reported M.A.R.C. met on Maxch lst. There were two items. Flyers <br />have been sent out regarding flag football. The second season of high school floor hockey was <br />discussed. There was a suggestion to somehow advise communities that sports are an <br />opportunity for kids to get involved. The next meeting is scheduled for AprilSth at 7:00 p.m. <br />Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Marquaxdt indicated that there was no meeting, so there <br />is no report. <br />Planning and Zonin? - Mr. Marquardt reported that Planning and Zoning met on March Stn <br />The existing slate of officers were re-elected. There are two items on tonight's agenda, the <br />Motion to approve the Preliminary Consolidation and Lot Split for Progressive Insurance <br />Campus III and the Conditional Use Permit for Jump N Sprout Daycare Facility. <br />Recreation Board - Mr. Marrie reported that the Committee met on Wednesday, March 21St <br />The Spring Party and Easter Egg Hunt scheduled for March 31 St was discussed. We are asking <br />for volunteers to help with this. Sean did a brief recap of the enrollment of our sports for the <br />upcoming spring/summer session. All three adult softball leagues are full with a waiting list. 18 <br />and over also has a waiting list. Co-ed and men's 18 plus league are all full. The men's 50 plus <br />league is full. The adult soccer has a maximum of 9 teams, that is full. Dave Blood, our <br />Recreation Board member was a playoff champion for the Men's 18 and over basketball league. <br />He was the MVP. Bill covered the Spring and Summer Parks and Recreation brochure. The <br />Committee also agreed not to meet during the summer like it did last year. We will have a <br />meeting on April 18 th. That will be the last one before September. <br />
