Re€;ular Council Meeting
5-21-07
Page 11
Initiative Planning Grant (TLCI) to promote hike and bike trails throughout the Village."
Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole.
Mr•. Brett advised that this is to assist the Village in applying for the Transportation for Livable
Communities Initiative Grants from NOACA. It is due Wednesday. Up to $75,000.00 is
available. Tom Evans is spearheading this with his experience that he has had with the Village in
areas like this before.
Mi. Brett has the NOACA handout if anyone would like to see that after the meeting.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Resolution Adopted
CI,OSING COMMENTS
Council President Buckholtz asked if there were any additional comments.
Mr. Marquardt asked about our e-mail system. It has bounced e-mails from his e-mail for
as long as it has been up. Chief Mohr asked Mr. Marquardt if he has AOL. He said he has
hotmail. Chief Mohr will look in to this. We had a problem last week with Corecom. We
reestablished some of the older en.com. When we reactivated those accounts, we had a problem
with our City-wide account. That was cleared. He did not know that Mr. Marquardt had a
problem with hotmail. Mr. Marquardt stated that it has not worked since day one. Chief Mohr
will look in to it tomorrow.
Mrs. Mills advised that she had a call from a couple of residents on Highland Road. She
talked with John Marrelli this morning about the gas well that went in this past week. We can't
do anything about the permits, but these people were complaining about 24 hour noise.
Arcording to what John said, once they start drilling, they drill until they get gas. Mr. Buckholtz
stated that John will be closely watching the gas well situation. Mrs. Mills said he is taking care
of this. The residents want to know if someone should have notified them about this installation.
Even John did not know about it until it was happening. Mr. Diemert reported that they will be
done drilling tomorrow night with this project. We are looking at an ordinance for some kind of
control, but state law pretty much pre-empts all this. Mr. Brett asked if we can use the contractor
nuisance laws. Mr. Diemert advised that we cannot. We previously passed an ordinance
condemning the state's ruling. There is nothing we can do. It is a wait and see from the state.
Mr: Saponaro has been talking to Pat and his department because the striping done at the
Musca property, especially in front of Pizza Roma, is not being adhered to and there has been
battleneck. He has talked to the dispatchers about this. Trucks are parking along Charter One.
You have cars sitting there parked in no parking areas. He was driving his car and another car
came around. There was someone walking who was blinded by the big truck and almost got hit.
Mr. Saponaro gave the license plate number of the vehicle to the police department. He also will
call Joe Musca and let hirri know the same thing. It is difficult that we have to go and police a
