Minutes of the Combined Caucus/Council Meeting <br />7-16-07 <br />Page 3 <br />understanding that it is working fairly well. Chief Dearden added that there have been no <br />complaints. <br />Mayor Rinker shared that some of the feedback he has had from residents especially along Metro <br />Park has really been very favorable to Camino Construction. It sounds like they have gone an <br />extra measure to communicate and follow through with things. Mayor Rinker asked Mr. <br />Cappello if that has been his experience. Mr. Cappello agreed, stating that there have been some <br />issues here and there. Any time he receives calls from residents on issues regarding the project, <br />they have complimented the contractor. Mayor Rinker complimented the fact that everyone has <br />been following through. In past memory, when we have had these, we typically would have <br />anywhere from two to three or four neighborhood meetings to keep people apprised. We have <br />had essentially one before everything began. Since that time, residents have generally been <br />pretty positive about things. That is a good commentary for everyone. We appreciate it. <br />Mr. Buckholtz stated that he drove up there and with regard to the signalization would like to ask <br />who owns the brand new portable traffic signal units with solar panels on them. Mr. Cappello <br />advised that Camino leased those from a Canadian company. ODOT uses this type of <br />signalization a lot on bridge replacements. It works really well. We are pretty happy with it. Mr. <br />Buckholtz added that everyone was so worried about this project because of all of the traffic <br />problems everywhere else. This is working great. Mrs. Mills added that they also have those on <br />Chardon Road where they are doing the bridge over the river. <br />LEGAL DEPARTMENT - Diane Calta <br />There was nothing to report. <br />FIRE - Chief Mohr <br />Chief Mohr reported that they are through with their hydrant flushing program for the summer. <br />Several hydrants have been turned in to Cleveland for repair. Also, if you recall this past winter <br />we had a project with Mayfield Heights where we split 50-50 on traffic pre-emption at Lander at <br />Ridgebury. That light is installed, very timely, with the amount of traffic now going up and <br />down that road now because of Mayfield Road. That is functional. <br />FINANCE - Philip Brett <br />Mr. Brett reported that Council received the Finance Director's report in a small notebook with <br />the following items: <br />Section 1- Tax Budget - That hearing is essentially over. The Ordinance is in the front <br />page of Section 1. Section 2- Appropriation Ordinance - That was discussed at the last Council meeting. <br />Transfers were reduced to infrastructure and improvement fund, S.O.M. Center Road <br />fund and the municipal center fund to make up for the new transfer to the Civic Center.
