Minutes of the Combined Caucus/Council Meeting <br />8-13-07 <br />Page 2 <br />COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT BUCKHOLTZ <br />Council President Buckholtz advised everyone that this is the time of the year when the liquor licenses <br />need to be renewed. The process is if there are no issues, we do not need to do anything. They just <br />roll over for approval. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS: <br />SERVICE. - Doualas Metzung <br />Mr. Metzung reported that the bridge enhancements in the Worton Park area have been <br />completed. Take a ride through there if you get a chance. The next project is constructing the <br />Wiley Park/Service Department signage. Mr. Metzung has been in contact with the USDA. <br />They will be doing some live trapping of raccoons on Village property. They will then be <br />vaccinated and released. Work has begun on the third soccer field in preparation for an <br />upcoming child camp. A portion of the field will be worked on to get it ready for soccer. <br />BUILDING - John Marrelli <br />Mr. Marrelli provided an update on the sewer project at Zorn and Metro Park. Sixteen <br />connection permits have been issued to Dino's Contracting as of this morning. Letters are going <br />out to the rest of the residents on those streets advising them that they can go ahead and get their <br />contractors lined up and we will issue the connection permits. In case you have not walked <br />down the hallway, the theater is moving along rapidly. At this point, the carpenters have finished <br />today. The electricians axe working. Painting, lighting and carpeting will start this week. The <br />seats are coming. It is all coming together. With regard to the police station project, we have <br />discussed scheduling a groundbreaking ceremony. It is tentatively scheduled for the third week <br />of September. <br />ENGINEERING - Tom Cappello <br />The sewer project is continuing. They are working on the second pour for the underpass. <br />Highland Road should be opening up for two-way traffic in approximately three weeks, weather <br />permitting. <br />LEGAL DEPARTMENT - Joe Diemert <br />There was no report. <br />FIRE - Lieutenant Girbino <br />There was no report. <br /> <br /> <br />
