Minutes of the Combined Caucus/Council Meeting 8-13-07 Page 2 COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT BUCKHOLTZ Council President Buckholtz advised everyone that this is the time of the year when the liquor licenses need to be renewed. The process is if there are no issues, we do not need to do anything. They just roll over for approval. DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS: SERVICE. - Doualas Metzung Mr. Metzung reported that the bridge enhancements in the Worton Park area have been completed. Take a ride through there if you get a chance. The next project is constructing the Wiley Park/Service Department signage. Mr. Metzung has been in contact with the USDA. They will be doing some live trapping of raccoons on Village property. They will then be vaccinated and released. Work has begun on the third soccer field in preparation for an upcoming child camp. A portion of the field will be worked on to get it ready for soccer. BUILDING - John Marrelli Mr. Marrelli provided an update on the sewer project at Zorn and Metro Park. Sixteen connection permits have been issued to Dino's Contracting as of this morning. Letters are going out to the rest of the residents on those streets advising them that they can go ahead and get their contractors lined up and we will issue the connection permits. In case you have not walked down the hallway, the theater is moving along rapidly. At this point, the carpenters have finished today. The electricians axe working. Painting, lighting and carpeting will start this week. The seats are coming. It is all coming together. With regard to the police station project, we have discussed scheduling a groundbreaking ceremony. It is tentatively scheduled for the third week of September. ENGINEERING - Tom Cappello The sewer project is continuing. They are working on the second pour for the underpass. Highland Road should be opening up for two-way traffic in approximately three weeks, weather permitting. LEGAL DEPARTMENT - Joe Diemert There was no report. FIRE - Lieutenant Girbino There was no report.
