They approved the Altercare expansion for physical therapy.
Beautification- Mr. Saponaro reported that the committee met on September lOth. They
reviewed the planting project with the baskets and planters for this year. They are going to have
presentations at their next meeting by three different organizations that are going to tell us what
they would like to do in terms of basket plantings and planters next year. The committee was
happy with what had happened but felt that there could be a lot of changes and improvements,
not only in placement but in the overall aesthetics of the Village. They also welcome anyone's
comments. You can certainly send Mr. Saponaro an e-mail so that he can take it to them. Mr.
Buckholtz asked if the surrounding communities have been contacted. Mr. Saponaro advised that
they contacted Wickliffe, Willoughby, Shaker Heights and Cleveland Heights. They budget to
the tune of $50,000.00 for their beautification. They also have programs in place where
businesses adopt a planter and they spent $600.00 on the pot and an equal amount on. the
plantings. There are a lot of different ways the cities do this. Downtown Willoughby plants on
site. Middle Ridge takes care of them: They grow the plants and they bring them out. They
plant them on site. There are a lot of variations on theme here. We have looked at a lot of
different programs. We are going to bring in three different nurseries who have worked in
different communities to see what they have done there. We are asking them to look at the
Village and give their recommendations. We are leaving up the baskets until the end of October
as well as the planters so that they can look at what we have done currently and how we can
make improvements. We will then recommend a budget based on the presentations they have
received.
Dr. Parker commented that the plantings around the entryways into the Village look very
nice this year. Who is responsible for that? Mr. Saponaro replied Doug and the Service
Depaxtment. Dr. Paxker said they did a great job.
With regard to the entranceways at Aintree North, Mrs. Cinco asked who installed the
lights which go right into the plants. Mr. Metzung replied that the homeowner's association did
that.
Board of Anpeals - Mr. Marrelli stated that there was no meeting, so there is no report.
Cemetery - There was no report.
Citizen's Advisorv Committee - Mr. Marrie reported that there was no meeting.
