Additionally I entered <br />us into a regional grant through the Coui7ty through the Urban Area Security Iilitiative funding <br />inechanism of the Cuyahoga County level of govei7lment and it appears that our region will be <br />receiving that so at the end of the year, we should receive two additional sets which would total <br />us at 8. So I just wanted to update you on that. The original line item was for $10,000. We did <br />purchase 3 sets on our own for the amount of $3,600. There is one thing I will have to have you <br />guys approve eventually and it's that shipping wasn't included on the original amount that we all <br />approved so it's an extra $120 to cover the shipping but I just wanted to tell you that we did <br />receive those funds. <br />Council President Saponaro stated, very good. Thank you for your report. <br />William Thomas <br />- Senior Services - We had over 50 seniors attend the Anniversary Party for <br />Mayfield Village Seniors on April 8U'. About 50 people attended the Lunch N Learn <br />about music and fashion on March 30U' sponsored by Kendra. Almost 40 people <br />attended the Lunch N Learn about Mayfield Village activities, programs and trips on <br />April 6tl'. A reminder that seniors who participated in the snow removal prograin by <br />opting in must report any dainage to their property by the snow reinoval contractors <br />to the Senior Services Department by May 6il'. The next Cominunity Partnership on <br />Aging Lunch N Movie will be held on Wednesday, May l l"'. The May foot clinics <br />will be on Friday the 13`I' and the 27"'. The trip this Wednesday is to Quintella's Tea <br />Rooin in Burton and it is sold out. The May lunch and inovie at Governor's Village is <br />Wednesday, May 8tl' and a reminder to Village seniors to return your senior surveys <br />that we have received and we have over 100 surveys already returned to date. <br />Council President Saponaro stated, thank you. You will notice for Department Heads and <br />Council that if you don't have anything that is a separate report that is not an agenda item, if you <br />let me or let Mary Beth know actually and then we, won't put your naine on there so that we <br />don't repeat what we are doing there, okay? And we will do the same with Council as well with <br />the Coimnittees, but I did not have an opportunity to reach out to everyone. <br />Committee Renorts: <br />Activities Committee - Mrs. Mills - Pancake Breakfast is May 8" and I am going to send <br />around sign-up sheets, also one for Cruise Night which is June l lt". Danielle would like you to <br />sign up for that. On May 29th is Memorial Day Ceremonies at Whitehaven. That's a very nice <br />cereinony. I think everyone should go to that. We are making plans for Cruise Night and <br />Fireworks and also Arbor Day is April 29th at 9:00 a.in. in the grassy area right near the north <br />side of the Fire Department. That is a very very nice service that the Garden Club and the <br />Service Departinent has put together for the children at Center School. <br />Cemetery - Mrs. Mills - Roger Reinec is back in town and he will be taking care of our <br />Cemetery for soine clean up and tree triinining and things like that.
