Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council Monday, June 20, 2016 Page 2 Administration of Oath of Office: o Patrol Officer Charles Pona Mayor Bodnar stated; it is now my lionor to swear in Charles Pona as our newest patrol officer for Mayfield Village. Chief Edelman will begin by reading Mr. Pona's biography and then after that I would like Charles Pona to come to the fi-ont of the room with your mother as I understand that she has the hoizor of pimiing on your badge and I will adn7inister the oath. Chief Edelman stated, Officer Chuck Poi1a joined Mayfield Village Police Deparhnent in May 2015. Earlier this year, he participated in our test for full-time patrol officer. After completing the test process with 47 other applicants, Chuck scored in the numUer 1 position. Since joining MVPD, he has proven himself to be an asset to Mayfield Village and to the Police Department as well. I have no doubt he will have a veiy successful career with us. He achieved his Associate's Degree at Lakeland Coinmunity College. After speaking with lutn, I have no doubt that he also will look forward to continuing his education whether it's kicking and screaining or through his design, Uut we will put him in that direction and go from there. Mayor Bodnar adininistered the oath of office to Pan-ol Officer Charles Pona. - Presentation to Dr. Hirovuki Fujita of Proclaination in Honor of the 10"' Amliversary of QED Mayor Bodnar stated, I will be reading a Proclamation congratulating and commending one of our local businesses, Quality Electrodynainics and its leader Dr. Hiro Fujita, on its 10 year aruiiversary, an aiuliversary that is marked with progressive growth and success. Dr. Fujita, would you like to stand at the podium so you can hear the Proclamation better? PROCLAMATION HONOIZING THE TENTH ANNIVERSARY OF QiTALITY ELECTRODYNAMICS (QEI3) QED came to Mayfield Village in 2006 as a company of six employees; and Wliereas, in the past ten years, QED has grown into an intemationally reilowned medical device manufacturing company with nearly 150 employees; and Whereas, QED has grown out of its first two Mayfield Village homes, and is in the process of moving into its third; and i417zereas, QED's growth and success are to the credit of its leadership, especially its president, Dr. Hiroyuki Fujita, who has successfully combined his knowledge, vision, and coinmitmeilt to family, to QED's workforce, and to the coinnlunity, in developing a Uusiness with sound roots and sustainable growth; and
