We will malce that the first agenda item after Old Business. <br />Committee I2enorts: <br />Activities Committee - Mrs. 1lZills - I would like to talk about the Flag Day retireinent <br />ceremony that was on June 4"' at 7:00 p.m. at the Greenway Trail next to the Fire Station. Thanlc <br />you to Lieutenant Girbino and Scout Troop 289 and their Scoutmasters. The Scouts presented a <br />program about the history of the American flag before the flags were placed in the fire. <br />Groimnets were removed. The flags were then placed in the pot, one at a tiine. After the <br />ceremony, the 12 people in attendance were given a inoinentuin of the grommet. The ashes, <br />when cooled, are buried. The ceremony was sponsored by Mayfield Village Women's Club and <br />the Mayfield Village Women's Club will also sponsor this event next year. They are hoping to <br />collect the tattered flags froin Village residents. The Woinen's Club also has a project. The stars <br />are cut from the field of blue and given to Veterans to carry in their wallets. The goal this year is <br />to distribute 500 of tllese stars, so anyoile that has any tattered flags here in the Village, you can <br />bring them to the Civic Center or call me and I will be glad to come and pick thein up. It was a <br />very nice cereinony. Thank you Michael. It was very nice. Our next ineeting will probably be <br />in Septeinber. I remind you about our Fireworks on July 2°d. It's going to be a hopping tiine at <br />The Grove with music and splashing in the pool. We are going to have a good time. It's going <br />to be a fainily day. <br />Cemetery Comanittee - Mrs. Mills - The Mayfield Garden Club planted their geraniuins. Tlie <br />flags will be taken off the graves and given to the Mayfield Women's Club for disposal next <br />year. <br />Commission on Aging - Mrs. Mills - The next ineeting will be Thursday, Juile 23'd at 11:00 at <br />St. Bartholoinew's. We will discuss the senior survey results which you all had in your packet, <br />the Senior Fair, new classes for Fall and new trips for 2017. <br />Finance Comnuttee - Mr. Saponaro - We inet before Caucus and again this evening. There <br />were 13 iteins on the agenda. 11 were approved and 2 were defened. They will be discussed in <br />Old and New Business. <br />Historical Sociefy - 117rs. Mills - We are preparing for our 40"' Aiu7iversary of the Ice Cream <br />Social the second Wednesday in September. Mark your calendars for ice cream and cookies. <br />Planning and Zoning -Mr. Marquardt - VJe met on June 6"'. We had one itein on the agenda <br />and that was the extension of non-conforniing use for Smoking Q's Barbecue Restauraiit at 718 <br />SOM Center Road. We approved those changes so they can be on their way.
