Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council Tuesday, January 17, 2012 . Page 20 Council President Buckholtz asked if there were any comments. Mr. Diemert explained, same thing. ROLL CALL: AYES: All Motion Carried NAYS: None Ordinance Enacted • First Reading of Ordinance No. 2012-04, entitled, "An emergency ordinance disbanding the Beautification Committee." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole. Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council requiring an Ordinance to be read on three separate occasions. ROLL CALL: AYES: All NAYS: None Motion Carried Rules Suspended Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2012-04. Counoil President Buckholtz commented that these functions, it was always questioned that there are other committees that can handle these functions. We tested it out as a committee. The concept of keeping the Village beautified and clean and taking on periodic tasks of a community cooperative, that will not go away. We have an Activities Committee. Mrs. Mills added, Mr. Metzung and Jean Britton and Carole Marrie and myself went out to Burton. We have tentatively ordered the hanging baskets. You didn't get the price on that yet, Doug? Mr. Metzung replied, no. Mrs. Mills stated, we will probably have that by Caucus. It's a very nice operation out there. We were very impressed as Garden Club people. Council President Buckholtz stated, I just wanted to say that I think the Beautification -----Committee was a-good--exper-iment. I- think what it got people- to realize is it takes a few people from Citizen's Advisory, a few people from Activities, several other committees and just people from the community at large. We had a very couple very successful Saturdays of clean ups and plantings and all kinds of things. I just wanted to encourage that we continue to do all that other ways.
