Minutes of the Special Meeting of Council
Monday, Mazch 5, 2012
Page 3
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion. There was none.
Roll Ca11: AYES: All
` NAYS: None
Motion Cazried
Expenditure Authorized
• First Reading of Ordinance No. 2012-10, entitled, "An emergency ordinance
authorizing a Political Subdivision Participation Agreement with the County of
Cuyahoga, Ohio Benefits Regionalization Program as and for employee health care and
hospitalization coverage." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole. (Straw
vote approved - 2-27-12)
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council
requiring an Ordinance to be read on three separate occasions.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Cazried
Rules Suspended
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Marrie made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2012-10.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion. Ron already explained
this. We have all been through this. This is the best plan:
Mr. Wynne added, in the past, when we contracted with Anthem and Aetna, we just paid
the insurance company and the insurance company in turn paid the insurance brokers. This
is a different set-up. With this Agreement, there are a total of three agreements, one with
the County, one with the insurance broker and one with a company called EBI that
administers benefits. It's all the same costs we had before when we went with Anthem and
Aetna but now we are paying three carriers as opposed to paying just one.
Council President Buckholtz asked, it's separated out?
Mr. Wynne replied, yes.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there were any other questions. There were none.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Ordinance Enacted
?
